Golden Slipper Center for Seniors
Welcome to the Golden Slipper Center for Seniors. The Jewish Center was founded in 1995 and operates weekdays as a full-service senior center serving the community over the age of 62. The Center for Seniors is a non-profit organization, which comes under the umbrella of Golden Slipper Club and Charities.
Activities:
While many senior centers repeat the same activities or "clubs" each week, Golden Slipper boasts a remarkably varied calendar of activities. Activities change each week and month. Whether a member is in good physical shape or less agile, there's something for everyone at the Center for Seniors. The Center for Seniors is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 2:00pm and sometimes later for special programs.
Lunch Menu:
Golden Slipper Center for Seniors offers a hot lunch and alternative lighter fare daily. Keeping a kosher kitchen, the Center’s caterer is Betty the Caterer, well-known in the Jewish community. Our menu changes monthly and we change our entire menu every quarter.
A typical hot lunch consists of a soup, dairy or meat entrée, bread and dessert. Our lighter fare consists of a boxed lunch, which contains a sandwich, side salad such as coleslaw, fruit juice and dessert such as a fresh piece of fruit or cookie. So that the Center is accessible to everyone who desires to come, lunch with membership is only $2.10. Members may bring guests. The charge for a guest for lunch is $4.00.
Mission Statement:
The Center's mission is to help seniors to live independently for as long as possible by providing a place to meet new people, access needed services through the Center's social workers, learn new things and enjoy a wide variety of activities.
