Researchers from the University of British Columbia and GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre are looking for volunteers to participate in a study examining confidence using a wheelchair among older adults.
You are invited to take part in this study if you:
• are 50 years of age or older
• reside in the community
• are a new manual wheelchair user (no more than 12 months)
• use a manual wheelchair daily (at least 2 hours/day)
• are able to self-propel a distance of 10 m
• are able to read, write and speak in English.

If you choose to take part and are eligible to participate, you will be required to attend data collection sessions for a maximum of 4 hours over a 6 week time frame. You will also be required to take part in group activities 2 times a week for 3 weeks for a maximum of 9 hours.

To cover the costs of transportation and any other expenses, you will be paid a participation fee.
