Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our Adult Day Centre. Our aim is to provide a therapeutic, supportive and fun environment to our participants and to their families and friends, respite and counselling.
We provide Adult Day Centre Services and Programs Monday to Friday and on Wednesday evenings seniors in the community are welcome to a scrumptious 3 course meal at our Supper Club.

PROGRAMS:

Cedar Cottage ADC offers a wide variety of therapeutic programs with a focus on person centered care. Participants are encouraged to offer suggestions, share their interests and special skills and take part in program planning.

Our regular programs include discussion groups, quizzes, physical and brain games, music and crafts.

Exercise Program:

We are very excited about our health promotion exercise program. We offer three exercise programs each day, including two goups focusing on standing and balance, resistance training with hand and leg weights, cardiovascular exercise and power training. Our third exercise group is slower paced for cllients who may have challenges with mobility or cognition.

We have designed our exercise program to conform to the recommended guidelines set out on exercise for frail seniors. Extensive research has demonstrated that programs like ours not only maintain strength and flexibility, but also work to maintain or increase balance, speed and agility, which may decrease the incidence of falls. In order to maintain the safety of our program, we monitor the progress of each client with periodic functional mobility and balance assessments and regular health checks by our nurse.

SUPPER CLUB:

Tired of eating alone? Want a break from cooking? Want to hang out with a great group of people and have fun? Members of our Seniors Supper Club enjoy nutritious and inexpensive meals at Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House every Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Come for information, activities, celebrations and good food.
