Our Mission

To advance the care of elderly people in British Columbia by:

* Developing improved education for physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, and the public regarding the art and science of providing medical care for the elderly.
* Providing a forum for academic deliberation aimed at improving the quality of care for the elderly in British Columbia.
* Promoting adequate funding for all aspects of the care of elderly people in British Columbia.

Our Goals for the Association

1. Continue to lobby for adequate remuneration for the provision of health care to the frail elderly, and continue to explore alternate methods of funding in working with the frail elderly.
2. Promote an awareness of nature of primary care of the frail elderly among the medical community.
3. Act as a resource for and coordinate communication among LTC Facilities and the physicians who practice in them, about issues of importance to LTC.
4. Act as an advocate for the elderly and make the needs, particularly of the frail elderly, known to the public.
